Hi,

I have updated my Kontakt 5 and now when it X3 scans it stops on any Kontakt 5.Dll, even when I uninstalled the updated and went back to the old one it is still stuck on it and won't add the plugin in sonar.

I am using X3e on Windows 7 SP1 64 bit

Any help would be appreciated,

Martin

What exactly do you mean when you say it 'stops' - is there an error? Does it just pause for a while?

Try running Kontakt in standalone modus first.

Thanks for the replies,

Basically what happens is I update Kontakt, it runs fine in standalone mode. If I switch off automatic VST scan and put it into Manual in sonar the updated Kontakt also runs fine, have tried it in several projects.

However as soon as I put sonar into Automatic scan the next time I open a project it halts on the Kontakt DLL file. Then when I next go into Sonar Kontakt has been removed, it then halts on the next DLL of Kontakt until all the Kontakt plugins have gone from within sonar. But if sonar doesn't scan for them they run fine!

Can I tell Sonar to not scan for Kontakt at all?

Try...

Running chkdsk on your harddrive.
Also in Sonar do a vst RESET (not just a rescan).

Cheers..

Thanks for the reply,

I have tried a check disk and a full reset and rescan, I did it in my last version of Sonar so it didn't mess the new one up, and it's still exactly the same. The first DLL of a Kontakt and it stops.

Here is a screenshot of my VST folder does anything look wrong?

you have duplicates of the kontakt 5 DLLs - all the items with (2) in the name - i'd try removing them before rescanning

Thanks,

Have tried moving them to another folder so there's only

KONTAKT 5
KONTAKT 8
KONTAKT 16

The first Kontakt it hits, KONTAKT 16, it just stops again.

I presume the chances of it just doing it if I leave it for ages are slim to none?

It can take quite a while to scan the Kontakt dlls. Even minutes. Perhaps you need to wait for the scan to finish

Thanks for the reply,

So far it has been on the same Kontakt DLL for 45 mins,

Any other ideas?
