With some type of audio .. when I drag from browser it places the audio in sonar in a completely different bar to what I intended it to   be.

Only happens with some files...    is there a reason for this?

Broadcast waves maybe
Deselect "Always Import Broadcast Waves At Their Timestamp" in Preferences > File > Audio Data

scook, since you're usually the one who answers this question when it pops up every week or two, you'll be happy to know I put in a feature request to have the default be not to import at the timestamp.

It will shift the problem to a different group of users, I'll get an updated reply ready.

I don't understand why creators of loop libraries use broadcast waves.

Me neither, since it's unlikely loops will need to be brought in at a specific time. My reasoning for requesting the change is that the people who use broadcast WAVs will know to set the default in preferences, but those are aren't aware of broadcast WAVs will not know they need to change the default. So basically, I'm guessing that the universe of people who use time-stamping a lot is smaller than the people who use loop libraries with time stamps. If you think that's a bad guess, I can always withdraw the feature request...it just seemed like this "where are my loops?" issue comes up a lot.

Maybe it's "six of one, half dozen of the other."

I have no idea. Maybe if the default changes, the loop vendors will stop using broadcast waves.
