You might try just seecting first midi track in dialogue box and install an instance of it. try clicking on the echo listen.
If that doesn't work I'd reistall AD as it sounds like something got moved or deleted.

Your discription of "inserting it to an audio track " has me pondering if you are using it correctly.
You insert soft synths and they will create there own track. Make sure you choose the settings you want in the insert dialog box. There are a few choices to be made.

Then it's a matter of pointing any midi tracks output at that synth.
When you open the AD GUI and hit a drum do you hear anything?

Insert it as a soft synth with multiple outs, so you can have each drum outputting on its own 'audio' track.

FYI: if your Pc was cleaned and serviced, as you put it, I hope you backed it up before having someone work on it. Who knows what they 'cleaned, AKA deleted and who knows what they did to your pc.

If I was you, I would do clean installs of all your important programs, including soft synths if they are acting funny after a person "cleaned" your PC.

Insert soft synth in the synth rack as CJ pointed out.

You will need to output your midi track to AD.

I don't think all of AD's outputs are necessary. (They are listed as inputs on the audio tracks)
I use only the mono tracks for the individual pieces and stereo tracks for the room, overheads and FX.

It depends on what your after from there. I don't use AD's effects and just insert the effect I want in the tracks.

If your still having trouble with hearing the drums, make sure the arrows are on in the bottom of the AD UI next to each fader.

You will need to output your midi track to AD.

You do not have to output any midi tracks to AD. When you use the 'insert soft synth' function, it configures all outs and ins for you. If you change anything, it will screw you up.

IF you want to have all drums outputting to different audio tracks, you need to select multiple outs. I*f you do not, then all drums will be outputting on one audio track and you wont be able to use the sonar faders and effects to adjust individual drums

So the midi track magically outputs to AD?  I was unaware inserting a soft synth into the synth rack automatically outputted midi tracks to it. When did this start happening?

Me too? I've been doing wrong for 10 years ?
You can use the simple instrument track or what ever it's called, your choice,  but lot of us still point a nice fresh shiny new midi track output at what ever soft synth we want it to trigger.
That's why I said what I said in my post,,, there are options, and if you don't understand those options, read the help files or ask here..

The insert soft synth has been around since at least X1. The true power of it is the options available in the insert dialog box. Very flexible.
