Have you defragged the hard drives? Perhaps Sonar is reading in and processing all plug-ins each time you open it. You could try checking that probably from the plug-in manager.

Welcome to the forum.
Without knowing your system specs it's impossible to say if that's much or not. If SONAR scans your VSTs on startup, then one minute is "longish" but not abnormally much, IMO. Then again, I've never had an up-to-date PC.

For initial launch, Virus Scanners are usually the wild card. If your computer cannot run any programs or use any DLLs before they are scanned, it has to wait on the scanner every time it launches the app.

Most virus scanners have a way to define directories that can be exempted from heavy scanning.

You may want to when it does open goto preferences and file/VST. Change "Scan on Startup" to "Automatic Background Scan". This should speed up starting and will note any changes to your VSTs.

On my Windows 7, 64bit...Sonar launches much faster now I start it from a little icon in the taskbar.
When starting Sonar from desktop, or just starting Sonar elsewhere...it takes longer.

good luck
