Hey Scott,  I have been doing jingle spots for two of my clients the last couple of months.  I have been working on sound effects for my own use also.  I won't be doing much work over the next month as my wife is having surgery on her neck and spine on Thursday.  I will be taking care of her as she will not be able to drive for the next 4 weeks, let alone work, so will be busy with her.

Then it is my turn in 4 weeks for surgery on my L4/L5 area to chip away some of the bone that is pinching both my leg nerves due to my scoliosis.  My recovery time will be about the same, so Netflix will be getting a good workout.

Hey Clint,

Sorry to hear about the surgery. I hope it goes well for both you and your wife. Recovery time is definitely not fun. But yeah, watching movies is a great way to pass the time. Be sure to watch a lot of comedies. I've read that speeds up the healing process. I don't know if it works, but you never know and at least the comedies will keep you in a good mood.

Thank you Scott for your kind words.

I have pulled out my old standby DVD's - Blues Brothers, Animal House, Vacation etc to kill some of the time.  Also my Bogie movies when I need to slam a scotch and water (I bought a 1.75L of Red Label from Costco) and practice the arm moves.

Hey Scott, sorry if it's already been addressed, but do you go into detail about using the Concrete Limiter and other Pro-Channel modules in X3 Power at all?

Hey Kyle,

SONAR X3 Power! covers the ProChannel in detail along with the modules that ship with SONAR Producer, including: the PC76 U-Type Channel Compressor, the PC4K S-Type Bus Compressor, the QuadCurve Equalizer, the Tube Saturation module, the Tape Emulator, the BREVERB 2 module, the FX Chain module, and the Console Emulator.

Thanks!

Thanks, Scott. Do any of your newsletters or other articles cover the Concrete Limiter at all? I'm really looking for your kind of detailed explanation about that tool in particular (even though I understand the general concepts of a limiter).

My last version of Cakewalk was Home Studio 9 before moving to Mac and Logic Studio. With my recent move back to the WinPC platform and ditching the Mac, I promptly grabbed Music Creator with all the sound packs and upgraded to Sonar X3 from there.

Wow, Sonar certainly looks different...so I needed "THE" book. Amazon says Sonar X3 Power should arrive in 2 days.

Can't wait to get back in the Cakewalk groove. It's been awhile. Glad the author hangs out here. :)

Hi Glen, what prompted the return to PC and Sonar?

Hey Kyle... no, sorry. I haven't written about the Concrete Limiter, but I'll be sure to keep that in mind for a future topic.

Thanks!
