Scott, all I can say is that I am glad I pre-ordered my copy at $35.  I have seen  the prices go down very soon after the books are released, so here is hoping that happens to X3 Power, but not at your expense.

Hey Clint... yep, it's always a good idea to get in on the pre-order price, but retailers can change the selling price any time they'd like. No one has control over that except for each individual retailer. It's just like when you shop at different stores that have the same item but at different prices. Either way, I get the same amount.

Amazon has shipped my book. I will have it on Tuesday.

I preordered from Amazon in March, and I just received my copy. It wasn't easy, though. I noticed that USPS tracking showed it as delivered, but I didn't have it. So I drove around the neighborhood until I found the mail carrier three streets away. He was a lost-in-space substitute, but I spotted what looked like the package in his van, and he gave it up. I hope others don't have to go through this.
 
BTW it's 416 pages long, not the 464 as in the Amazon description.
 
I've had a couple of other Power! books and was very happy with the quality and thoroughness, so I'm really looking forward to getting into this one.

I bought it this afternoon at Guitar Center in Albany, NY.  They were kind of annoyed with me as it had just arrived, and they hadn't had time to look at it.  However, I've put a few of them through college (!) so they weren't upset for long.
