Hi all,

Working in PRV most of the time. I would like to be able to give a region of notes a 'time out' so that I can try something else. Then I try my something else and can decide whether I like the new thing or the original thing better. Right now I'm muting my region of notes by Alt-Right-clicking them. This works fine, but I can't figure out how to get back from that without the crude Undo. How in PRV can I say "select only the muted notes" so that I can then either un-mute them or delete them? Right now, if I prefer my new idea, it usually sites right on top of my muted idea, making it impossible to select between the two.

Can I select the notes I have muted as a group? And please don't tell me to go to Track View and confront the Balrog that is Track Layers. That way lies certain death; it is folly.

Why not clone the track without the events? Then you can split the original clip at the region you want to mute, and use the Mute tool. Record the new part into the new track. If you like it better, delete the muted clip and slide in the data. Otherwise, delete the new material and unmute the muted clip.

Thanks for the suggestion. The only problem with that method (which I've attempted) is that since the two tracks point to the same synth source, I can't mute one track and not the other. I have taken to creating a dummy track with a different but similar instrument on it just for this purpose, but after all this it seems like I'm pulling my left ear with my right hand. There's got to be a simpler way......Doesn't there?

This might work............... Instead of muting the notes, after initial selection drag the velocity down to "1". Then when you want to reselect them use Edit--->Select--->By filter and use the Velocity field set as Max 1, to reselect all the previously reduced velocity notes.

AFAIK there's no easy way to select only muted notes by filter.
