It's six months later and there seems to be no mention of BCR2000s on SourceForge any more. Is AJ's BCR2000 plugin still available / being developed?

I'd be very very grateful if someone could post me a link to a download to the 64 bit version.  I'm running X1 on W7 64 bit having finally given up on XP.  I was sticking with it because I have (had) an 01X (and Yamaha in their wisdom have abandoned their customers and decided not to update their drivers) but the firewire interface is just too unreliable because of shared interrupts used by other hardware.  I'd rather run three monitors but I miss a hands-on control surface and my BCR2000 is just gathering dust.

Many thanks to the user who PMed me.  I now have the files.

Thanks for the work that everyone did.

Ugh, I feel like every few months someone is posting that they're writing a custom setup for the BCx units and it's a panacea for all control-needing nerds everywhere...this is at least the third discreet effort I've seen.

I own a BCF and a BCR and gotta tells ya, they've never worked right. Not in Mackie mode, not in ACT mode, and not with either of the first two attempts at something custom. Total bummer, for the size and price they're great but without something inside to sort it all out they're just dead weight on my desk.

I do hope this latest attempt goes all the way, it's certainly not a criticism from me for anyone who has taken the effort to give it a shot. I would just like to see one of these projects reach a 1.0 milestone and be ready for prime time. It makes me so jealous to see stuff like Daft Punk's setup where they use three of them for various controlling needs but they're all running some kind of hand-coded control bidness...probably some script in Max for Live or some such. Meanwhile I gotta spend six days in ACT hell just to get a pan pot to respond. :-)

Hey wicked... I did some video tutorials on Sonar use of the BCF2000 on my website.  Does anything there help you at all?  The video is in pre-x version (I think I had 8.5 at the time) and since the X versions, the prochannel control didn't end up getting used and it killed some of the BCF EQ functions in Mackie mode.  Still useful, though a bit less-so.  It's really a shame that there is no support for the prochannel stuff here and that the EQ bits stopped working, but as I understand it, this is more of a Mackie protocol issue than a BCF problem.

What exactly are you wishing that it would do that it doesn't?

Anyone know what has become of the somewhat-recently-open-sourced Mackie stuff for non-developers?

And I am one of such, but not for Bx at the moment... For everything without endless rotors and motorized faders, my solution is "ultimate" ;)

Open source/not commercial projects relay on motivation and final users activity in testing, proposals, etc.
I think Cakewalk is not actively developing CS part because  there is not sufficient number of customers for which it is important. The situation with my own plug-in just confirm that: not much interest and absolutely no response.

That is SONAR issuer. All plug-ins (Mackie, MIDI, etc). are using the same API. To reliably control PC EQ, very special tricks are required to deal with API bugs.

If you mean Mackie plug-in source for SONAR, it is what it is. So everyone can make it work for own CS (with sufficient knowledge in C++ and paid version of VC).

"everyone can make it work for own CS" - sure, maybe, but what about USERS that just want their stuff to work that doesn't?  I don't know C++ and don't really want to in order to get a BFC2000 to work with Sonar, which it should have done to begin with! :)  Especially since it used to work and has been broken with no regard!
Pfffttt...
