I think it is preposterous to leave Sonar out. It is a veteran and should be treated as one.

Yup, the "other" got my vote.
Bogus as John has already stated and, I agree, that the mag is for the DJ crowd and aerobic instructors.

Mac bias...no Sonar, Sampitude, or Mixcraft. Bitwig has been on the market for less than a year.

As to tracking sales, most companies are privately held and do not publish info on sales. The one place where you could track sales was stores that sold software in boxes, but with direct digital downloads taking over, that's less of a factor. I do have access to MI Sales Trak, but it's proprietary.

FWIW, SONAR is doing fine.

About the executive editor:
"Rounik is the Executive Editor for AskAudioMag.com & the quarterly print magazine by the same name. As an Apple Certified Trainer for Logic (and a self-confessed Mac fanatic) he's taught teachers, professional musicians and hobbyists how to get the best out of Apple's creative software."

And that says it all...

I heard about Bitwig through KVR it also came with a warning about spyware, Trojans and viruses.

Ah damn I could only vote for one of those, as I have no experience of any of the others apart from Sonar, which of course I voted for. It didn't even have AD2 in the percussion option.

Then it kicks back the answer

This question requires an answer.

Why does it require an answer if I don't want a chance of winning? Surely it should read
1. You must answer this!!!

Polls...meh.

Personally I recommend using whichever tool suites your fancy and use it as often as possible to ensure Ninja level knowledge and ability. A unintended consequence of this will be a tendency to disregard all polls.

There are only five professional DAWs:

1.  Sonar
2. Pro Tools
3. Digital Performer
4.  Cubase
5.  Logic

None of the other DAWs, regardless of their audio merits,  have a staff view, so from a professional composer's perspective, are not complete DAWS.  I realize that many people who use DAWS are not composers; some are audio engineers, songwriters, and others who don't need the staff view.  But any so-called "poll" that doesn't recognize what the above 5 DAWS can do that the others cannot is a dumb poll.

I'm pretty sure the website is mac oriented. I'm sure if Sonar and Samplitude had an OS X version they would be listed.

Maybe but FL Studio is not for Macs either.

Yup, your right John. I don't know. That's what I always thought about that site.
