That is just Sweetwater's way of sticking Bitwig's market share in Cakewalk's face. :-) What could be if they had continue to develop Project 5.



I'd be willing to bet that Bitwig's market share, whether units or dollars, is nowhere near Cakewalk's - don't forget there are a ton of X3 base versions out there. Bitwig's main competition is Ableton Live, not traditional DAWs (e.g., Bitwig doesn't do comping or surround), and grabbing part of Live's market share in that groove market is quite a challenge.

 There's a poll on Live's forums - The great Bitwig migration and it hasn't really won over many Live users.  Bitwig's biggest mistake IMO is no public beta testing and the length of time from announcement to release.
