  • Why are screenset changes taking so long?

I absolutely love the interface, but changing between screensets takes seven seconds (spinner).   Is this normal or is something wrong?  I have AMD Catalyst Control Center installed with a three head video card, although I am currently only using one monitor.

Also, when I close out preferences, it takes five seconds.  I know my machine is not fast, but it is well above the minimum spec.

It seems the length of time varies depending on how much needs to be changed. Some screen sets change in a second or two for me, others take longer.

There was a recent update from AMD for the Catalyst Control Center, which usually crashes at some point while working with SONAR. Whether it's running or not seems to have no effect on SONAR's performance. I think I'm just going to disable it...I'm not particularly happy with AMD's software.

Seven seconds is best case scenario.  Nothing changes, duplicate screen sets still take seven seconds. I would disable CCC but I think its necessary to have control of resolution with video through the card.

I suppose its worthwhile to test screensets with the monitor connected to the motherboard graphics.

I disable ALL AMD video bits, including the CCC and the AMD fuel service.

Windows only needs the driver.

The tray icon just provides convenience for changing resolutions which I never do.
