Hi everybody

Havent posted in quite a while but Im finally back making music again.

My lovely lady is treating me to some new plugins and I wondered which out of the Pro Channel bundle or the Softube you would all go for? I absolutely love the pro channel. It just adds something extra, maybe its pixie dust.

Thanks for any suggestions

What do you have already in the PC modules? A must have is the Concrete Limiter. Another is the CA2A  the rest are useful. I don't have the Softtube bundle. I do have the Overloud Suite for PC.

Hi John

I've only got what comes standard in X3 Producer. I've not seen the Overload so I will go have a look.

I agree with John. The Concrete Limiter and the CA-2A are excellent. I have the Softube Mix Bundle as well, and it is also very cool. I LOVE the TSAR-1 Reverb, and the FET Compressor sounds great on vocals and guitars. The Focusing Equalizer is pretty cool for bringing out the character of an instrument. There's also a Passive and Active Equalizer, and they sound good as well. I'm not gonna say what you should buy, but I do use the Softube Bundle, the Concrete Limiter, and the CA-2A on every song.

The interesting thing here is one can't go wrong picking any PC modules.

I echo that. Not sure which to recommend as I use them all regularly. I would say that I really, really like and use the Softube bundle and it's definitely more of a rarity to be able to buy it at a discount. So maybe if you think long term you may be able to stretch and get them all as time goes on, grab the one (Softube) that is rarer in terms of discount opportunity (which is now at the moment).

Also, want to put in a huge good word for the VKFX bundle. It's awesome! And a great Swiss Army knife of tools for the ProChannel. It sounds fantastic when racked up, which you can only get with the bundle.

A great video on the VKFX is here (the video doesn't show the ProChannel but it's there in the bundle):

If you are a guitariat then it's a no brianer... Overloud bundle with TH2 IMHO. Then again you might want to consider first if you've actually got the best out of your existing plugins before you jump into it.

The softube bundle is quite nice.  The best thing is the reverb, although SP3 has breverb now.  The FET comp (which is the same kind of the PC 1176) is as good as the PC, so that is a wash.  But the Focusing EQ is really sweet and a good complement to the PC EQ.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I'm going to check out your suggestions in my lunch hour. I think maybe if the Softubes package is only on offer for a short time then picking this up now might be a wise move.

Also if I can convince the Mrs that feeding the kids isn't really necessary this month, I can have them all :-)
