Hi Everyone,
Is it possible to start up Sonar with no project loading up. Not even a blank project. I've tried looking in the preferences, but I can't seem to find anything that turns off auto loading a blank project.

Thanks in advance!

When the Quick Start dialog box comes up asking if you want to open anything, just hit Close.

Thanks for replying Anderton,

I'm getting a blank project coming up before the Quick Start pops up. If I hit close and shut down Sonar, then reopen it, I still get a blank project, even if I turn off the "show this at start up".

What I would like to have happen when I open up Sonar is Nothing. No Quick Start dialog, or any blank project. I just want to have the application open with a blank area.

Is this possible in Sonar X3e? I know this was possible in Sonar v.6.1.2

Make sure the Preferences > File > Advanced "On Startup Load Normal Template" is not checked. To suppress the Quick Start dialog on startup uncheck the "SHOW THIS AT STARTUP" box next to the close button in the dialog. The Quick Start dialog is on the Help menu should it ever be needed.

Note: the File "Advanced" option is only visible when the Advanced radio button is selected at the bottom of the Preferences dialog.

I went into Advanced and it was already turned off. When I try to turn it on or off, and then apply, then close, and then shut down Sonar and restart, that button again is turned off. I can't change it, it will only stay in the off position. Still the blank project comes up when I start Sonar.
I've also disabled all my plugins.
Any way to reset Sonar maybe?

Just to note I have Sonar X3 (x3e build 244 x64) not producer etc., just plain X3, and I'm on Windows 8.1.

Make sure the Preferences > File > Audio Data "Used Per-Project Audio Folders" is checked. Per-project audio folders are required for the "On Startup Load Normal Template" option to be honored.

I am not sure what you mean by

I've also disabled all my plugins.

That worked like a charm. Finally I got rid of the start up template.

Thanks so much for your time and guidance.

P.S.
I only referred to disabling my plugins in the event that something there prevented me from changing the Start up Template.
