Two threads locked, one of them the main discussion thread for the hugely anticipated rebirth of Sonar. It appears to me that folks are getting just a bit antsy. Perhaps cabin fever plays a role also; it certainly is bad where I live this time of year.

Can we all take a few deep breaths, step back a pace or two, and wait like good Ladies and Gentlemen, for the roll-out of Sonar's successor? I know emotions run deep in all kinds of ways here. But this bickering about things we have no control over, which are simply going to be whatever BandLab decides they're going to be; is not only unseemly in itself, but is the last thing BandLab needs to see as it works on delivering this baby. Doesn't exactly make us look good.

In a way, they're going to be our new bosses. We need to put forth a better image here. We're acting like spoiled children (well, some of us are), who had their toy taken away, have just heard they will be getting it back, and can't manage to delay their gratification for a few more weeks. We're adults, not children, so let's start acting like it. This forum is a wonderful place, and it's going to continue, along with Sonar. What's not to like about that?

Sound advice Michael endless speculation is exactly that speculation, when they are ready I am sure they will let us all know.

I agree with you (even if I wrote some unnecessary comments in one of those threads).
Lets just await and see. Time will tell
All the best.

While the arguing is definitely a huge issue, it's the assumptions that are really going off the rocker.  You can't assume anything as nothing has been officially stated yet.  You know what they say about assuming....

Shouldn't we all be recording music?  (says the guy who took the time to comment in this thread)

I thought this thread was going to be about the frustrations of displaced villagers.

I'm pretty sure BandLab folks are familiar with how things develop on forums.  Discussion and speculation are the meat and potatoes of internet forums, so I'm personally not terribly put off by free-ranging discourse along those lines. Personal comments are the exception. Other than that, the mods are pretty forgiving here and most folks here refrain from such things so the mods don't lock threads very often, bless their overworked souls.

I think the BandLab crew should be encouraged that so many people are still willing to post at all on this forum so many months after Gibson pulled the plug on Cakewalk, let alone bothering to get into heated discussions about the future of Sonar. It suggests to me that a lot of folks will take a hard look at what BandLab comes up with from the Cakewalk IP, and that's a huge plus for them.
