They are to change the name and branding. Means, the logo and plating to change. All the help files, documentation and such to match. This is for the pre-existing Sonar. Next, any bugs which may have been scheduled to be addressed or minor update.
Then, some new stuff with the launch.

Hopefully it will be worth the wait.

Agree with all, except, BandLab is not our boss. We are their customers, and they should be focused on keeping us as just that. It is not Bandlabs fault for any of Gibson/Cakewalk’s promises not kept. I have moved on to another DAW, but I will certainly give BandLab a shot at retaining my business. After all, they stepped up after we all watched the collapse and eminent demise of our beloved Sonar.

With respect to the product, yes. I was referring to the forum, which I assume they will be running. Sorry I didn't make that clearer.

…, others will chime in about how they hope BandLab doesn't turn Sonar into a toy for loop-dragging kids….

And of course, the best one of all, which is that SONAR has really been profitable all along, and Bandlab should just restore SONAR unchanged, business as usual, raking in the profits and forget about all that younger generation nonsense.  Hey, you whippersnappers, get yer hands off my DAW ...  Kids these days.

Pushing all the buttons
trying to come to something
flying with his feet on the ground
Full of dreams and visions
in a world of indecision
He ain't around to be pushed around

Been a long time coming on - take a look at him now
and the days of If are gone - 'cause he's showing us how

Knowledge fuels the mind of the few
in a way that no - one's found
brave new answers screaming the truth
and the techno wins the crown

Micro-kid with mega-thoughts
he is real, he is here, he is fashionable
micro-kid speaks digitalk
if you hear what he says it's acceptable

This is not a "What does the future hold thread." It is an attempt to encourage people to behave more civilly as they discuss the situation.

Absolutely. It's been less than a month since the announcement! I'm sure BandLab has to do a lot of work behind the scenes to complete the transition to new owners. IMHO the best way to use this forum is the way it has always served us best - sharing ways to get the most out of Sonar.

We know all the important points: Sonar will continue, it will remain a desktop app, it was purchased to expand BandLab's offerings, and the company appreciates the loyal user base. That answered my questions...back to music .

That's the least important sentence in that post
What comes next (that no-one knows here so far) is the important part of the whole equation.
We'll all know soon enough, is my guess.
