If we are talking about shortcuts, I don't understand how CW blocked Space from assigning (confirmed by support) I hope in new version CW rather solve this kind of bugs...
Assigning a key to a shortcut is not a bug, it's a design decision.
Every DAW I've used assigns space bar to play/stop. I don't see a reason for Cakewalk to break from this practice.
There are IIRC six or seven reserved key bindings (space bar, and anything involving pause) and over 600 possible keyboard bindings. I just don't see it as a big deal that you can't use 6 or 7 out of those 600+ key bindings.
I hope there will be also proper VST3 support as for now it is disaster.
How is it a "disaster?" Remember, there is no definition of "proper" VST support because like MIDI, not all companies implement all aspects of the spec. That includes the companies producing the plug-ins as well as the hosts that support VST3. If you want specific elements of the VST3 spec implemented, probably the best way to have that happen is to submit a feature request and hope that other people want that feature as well.
