I didn't notice them mentioning the width control. If you click on the pan, you can move the pan left or right but you can also adjust the width by moving the mouse up or down.

Explain to me something simple that I just want to confirm: all the drums and content in AD1 is locked in AD1, correct?  In other words, any and all AD1 sounds cannot be ported/moved into AD2, and the only sounds I can get into AD2 is purchased material, right?

So I bought AD2: Reel Machines the other day with the $25-off survey discount.  The sounds/samples are indeed awesome, but I feel like it's a bit empty as AD2 is just a 80's drum machine now!  But I won't fall into the purchase-content just yet (it's a tarp!).  I guess for all other acoustic drums, I must refer and use AD1.

When I upgraded to AD2 from AD my existing ADPaks were upgraded to AD2 as well.

Thanks, Rocky. I never bought any content for AD1 though; I just had the stock content.  Anyway, I just tossed an email towards the XLN help desk.

Did you buy AD2 or the Reel Machines ADPack for AD2?   There is a difference - purchasing an ADPack gets you that set of samples with the AD2 "engine", where purchasing AD2 itself gets you a few different sample sets with the option adding ADPacks.

Steve,

I bought Reel Machines and was automatically upgraded to AD2 (it comes with it).  Essentially, all the new ADpaks only work on AD2.  With X3 Producer, which I upgraded back in the spring, I should have received the free upgrade that was part of the X3 promotion.  Unfortunately, it did not happen.  I never used Addictive Drums until recently.  I want to really simplify my beat production (I'm tired of complex drum synths!) so using AD(1/2) makes sense.  To make a long story short, the folks over at XLN Audio hooked me up.  Upon review of my account, there was some sort of error, and they corrected it.  So as of now, here's what's in my AD2 library:

1. Reel Machines (purchased)
2. Fairfax Vol. 1 (demo)
3. Studio Prog (full, came with upgrade)
4. Studio Pop (full, came with upgrade)
5. Studio Rock (full, came with upgrade)

I think that the Studio Prog/Pop/Rock kits are the kits from AD1 but modernized to work in the AD2 engine.  The "Sonor" kick drum is in there, and that is familiar to the AD1 engine.

Cool beans...   sounds like the XLN folds did indeed get you on board.   Your list is the same as mind except I chose Black Velvet instead of Reel Machines.   I do find AD2 to be a simple, yet flexible piece of kit, and it sounds good.  Enjoy!
