  • Sonar X2a: Reverb tail at the beginning of play-back?

Hello.  I am using sonar X2a and win 7 (all 64 bit).

In one recent project, I have an instance of Breverb loaded in the Main bus effects bin.  I start playback a measure or two before the first audio clip begins.  If I stop playback in the middle of the song, and rewind to my starting point (a measure or two before the first audio clip begins), and hit play, I first hear a continuation of the reverb tail (continued from where I stopped playback in the middle of the song) even though no audio is initially passing thru the reverb.

Is there a way I can stop Breverb from continuing to play a reverb tail when re-starting playback?

Thanks.

try enabling "Play Effect Tails After Stopping" in Preferences > Audio > Playback and Recording

I get that every now and again as well- not just with Breverb though.  You could disable what scook states above but I like hearing the effects on stop like it was back in the tape days.  So...  I've just dealt with it by hitting the space bar two or three times quickly until it's gone.

Thanks, scook.  I will try it.

Follow-up question: am I going to hear this start-up reverb tail in tracks that I have made by bouncing other tracks that go thru the Breverb?

I don't think so, because the Breverb effect is now part of the track, not something that's added on to it in real time.

I think it's actually called "Always Stream Audio Through FX"? In any event, enabling that will do what you want - play a reverb or delay tail after you press stop, but if you then hit play, you won't hear the tail.

I think it does that already if "Always Stream Audio through FX" is enabled?

Not in X2a. "Always Stream Audio Through FX" is an X3 option.

Is it the same function, just with a different name?
