And re reading your answer.. the message about the output devices , that happens when you have used a different audio interface and change sometimes. Say if the old one used a different naming system ?? Anyhow I'm thinking what I would do is
1- Go to the Roland Website and double check that you have the most up to date driver that matches your OS ( 64 bit etc) Make sure you always use the same USB port you used to install the drivers.
2- If it's possible, I've not familiar with WASAPI, un install it completely.
This might involve disabling your on board audio. You can always re enable again.
If you have a nvida video card then the HD driver needs to be disabled. read post # 56
http://forum.cakewalk.com...osted-m3074655-p2.aspx If you have asio4all nuke 101% completly, this is truth, don't listen to others...
If you have any Creative driver nuke them too... more truth...
3- Open Windows Audio devices and set the Roland as the default audio device.
4- Open Sonar / Preferences/ Audio and set to ASIO, re start Sonar.
You should now see the Roland as your ASIO device and as your timing master (the root of your issue)
If you get the re assign outputs, then do that, check your master is set to the Roland 1/2 for each project as you re open them. Once set those projects will work forever. I've had mine reset when I open old projects created with another interface, this is normal.
