I have just started playing with automation and I wanted to repeat an automation. I was wanting to create a loop on a send. I am not sure if can be done. Does anyone know? Example, I was trying to create a poorman's ADT by using a delay and pitch shifter in a parallel send with a gentle slow LFO wave out of sync on both fx.

Any ideas?

Are you aware that you can draw periodic waveforms for automation? Check out the Draw tool in the Toolbar. That might be the simplest solution, although you can copy/paste track envelopes if you prefer.

Thanks Craig,

I have looked at the waveforms. Unless I am misunderstanding, The slowest wave that I could draw was one measure which maybe to short of a period. I can choose points then create curves. When I began thinking about this, I imagined having a complex wave such as a swell followed by sine which could be repeated periodically. Basically making a function or machine.

The Snap value determines the waveform period, so you can go much faster than one measure.

That's another option, and you can also combine the two approaches. You can drag the smart tool across the envelope waveform in an automation lane (the hot spot is the lower half of the lane), copy, place the now time where you want the envelope to start, and paste. If you choose Paste Special, you can specify a number of repetitions so you don't have to keep cutting and pasting.
