  • How do you force SPLAT to only look at one ASIO driver?

Hi guys, I run an RME HDSP9652 internal card on ASIO as a main card and SPLAT is happy to see this card as a default.
However, the moment I witch on my RME Firewire interface SPLAT chooses that one over the Internal card unless I already have SPLAT running.

Years ago I had the same problem with my Line6 GuitarPort and got around it by sticking an "X" in front of the Guitaport Asio driver in the registry. It seems either windows or SPLAT picks the drivers alphabetically.. I just tried that trick again and it does work but I really don't want to mess with RME drivers unless I have to, so is there any more elegant way to do this?

Thanks in advance!

You may have the beginning of an idea, editing aud.ini then setting it to read-only would prevent SONAR changing the interface data in the file. Not tried it myself though.

Nope. But as I said, putting an alphabetically "later" letter in front of the second driver handles it - just not sure what the computer geeks would say about that!

Remove the (ir)relevant entry from the ASIO key in the registry?

I just disable the internal sound card through the Windows Device Manager.  You can also uncheck the card in the SONAR's Preferences|Devices if it shows up there.

Kind regards,

I have 2 interfaces, one used mostly and the other when needing up to 16 inputs.  I always controlled it by changing the name(s) as needed to be 1st alphabetically, if I recall.  I haven't needed the extra inputs for a year or so, so am a bit fuzzy on it, but I do seem to recall that being how I managed to get what I needed to show up.
