Thanks Wally. I'm on X3 version B, and will upgrade after this project. Are you on version E?

Yes.

...I kept opening older versions until I found that version 110 and earlier, all open and play back fine. It was at version 120 that I had installed Ozone 5, and even though it's now uninstalled, versions between 111 and 120 still crash/freeze. So I don't understand how that could be or how Ozone could be at fault. Just wanted to let you all the that weirdness....

Just for giggles, can you try using System Restore to go back to an earlier date to see if that fixes the problem?

Hi Walt! I have System Restore disabled on this computer. I do have an drive image which is an option. You know, I fiddled and fiddled for two hours and was able to get my latest version to respond and have been editing for 5 hours straight with no crash. Don't ask me how I did it, because I still don't know. So, it's probably just a mysterious thing that may be solved by going to version E later. Right now, I am not going to shut this computer off until the song is mixed, mastered and the video is fully edited. Probably be running this rig for the next two weeks straight.
I will then upgrade to E, reinstall Ozone 5 and report back.
Thanks so much everyone.

There is an update to Ozone 5. Fixed crash on Windows related to Fonts.

Thanks John, I'll check that out.

I'm going to install Sonar X3 E to my high end laptop, a Clevo for audio only, and install Ozone 5 there and report back.

All's well that ends.

Ha, ha, yes, WallyG! Ends well for now, but since I'd never want this to happen again, I guess I'll be wiping ver b and doing a fresh install of ver E, then I'll try the Ozone 5 again since everyone is telling me that it works fine for them with X3. I had my song mastered, for the second time in two weeks, by a pro studio and it sounds good, so this project is done.

I'm amazed at how helpful everyone here is. Thanks, everyone.

Hi Everyone,
I sent out my mix to a mastering house and I was wondering if there was any way for me to tame the S's and T's in my track. I had them go back a few times and shelve the high end (they had added +2 db at 10 Khz) and do some other things they said would help, but it's still there, and it wasn't really there in the mix I sent them. Otherwise it sounds great, loud, punchy and not overly compressed.
I put it back into Sonar and took a standard EQ filter and brought the the high end just a tad and it seemed to help without dulling down the entire track.
Is this ok or am I committing some sort of mortal sin here?
Thanks.

I usually use Melodyne to tame S's and T's in my tracks, except when I'm typing...

Thanks WallyG, I didn't think of that. I'll give it a try.
