  • Console Emulator freezes

This has happened to me a number of times but I can't figure out what I'm doing that is causing it.
Occasionally, the console emulator on the Pro Channel will freeze. By this I mean that I can no longer adjust its settings. I can't turn the knobs or press any of the buttons. In order to get a working console emulator again I simply "remove module" and add a new one and it works fine. Has anyone else experienced this? Have you figured out what you did to cause it?

Yes, and I have experienced this with the Concrete Limiter as well. However thanks to the diligent efforts of several forum Sonarians, Cakewalk was able to isolate the source of the problem. Usually it doesn't take too long between isolating the problem and fixing it, although there is a QC process that has to happen as well to make sure fixing something doesn't break something else, and that the fix is compatible with a variety of Windows systems (7, 8, 8.1, 32-bit, 64-bit).

Thanks, Anderton. So you're saying that the said fix is being tested in quality control at the moment and we should expect it in the next update?

I don't know for sure, I'm not part of the software development team. If I had to bet, though, I would bet yes.

Nice to know. Like I said, it's easy to work around it by just replacing it with a new module, but it's always nice to have bugs like that caught and squashed.

Luckily the console emulator only has 3 parameters so it's a matter of seconds to get back to where you were with it should you have to make a replacement

And if it happens with the Concrete Limiter, you can bring in a new instance, copy the settings, then delete the old one.

Concrete Limiter was a purchase option, wouldn't it be available in our download section in the store???

I would assume so...like I said, I'm not tuned in to the intricacies of what happens after the bug is isolated.
