  • May I ask a Proteus VX question here, please?

I recently upgraded to Sonar X3 Studio.  I can get Proteus VX to show up in the menu of a project, but the window that opens is blank, meaning I can't use Proteus sounds at all.  So, two questions:

how do I fix that?

OR

How do I use Proteus as a stand-alone?  It opens just fine on the desktop...and all libraries are loaded, but how do I use the sounds within Sonar X3 Studio...or can it be done as a stand-alone.

AND

If no answer to these questions, is there another soft-synth that will play all of my E-MU sound packages?

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Yes, I'm quite familiar with that post.  I was using X1 on Sys 7 and it worked fine.  I'm on Sys 8.1 now with X3 Studio. I guess I need to reinstall Studio in 32 bit to see if it will work...unless there's a way to run it as 32 sted 64 like you could do in 7...

Thanks.

[Update]
I re-ran jbridge and Pro XV is actually working in X3. I'll update my old thread, although I don't know how people update their post title to [SOLVED]?

Even with the post that scook posted, I wasn't able to win with Pro XV and x64 with X2. I just tried again with X3 and same issue. I might not have ran jbridge correctly, but eventually I gave up.

This was my attempt: http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3038460

My thread has some addition links to post that might help.

Well, kind of solved it. It runs VX, but doesn't save the presents after closing X3. There are still some UI oddities, but I seem to be able to work around them. Not being able to save my presets is an issue.
