I am able to record audio (with live mics  or with direct input fro say my guitar or keys).... I have not been able to record my midi tracks (that is........ say track one is a midi track with soft synths. I want to record it to another track as an audio)

SONAR works differently, so you don't actually record MIDI tracks to audio. Instead, you bounce MIDI/synth tracks to audio using the Bounce To Tracks function or by Freezing the synth track.

When bouncing a synth, both the MIDI and audio tracks associated with the synth must be selected. There is a tutorial in the Getting Started section of the Help file which may be useful Tutorial 4 - Playing and recording software instruments

Hi John,

Yep, just freeze the track and you're all set. And you can even unfreeze the track later if you ever want to edit the MIDI data again. Also, as Scook mentioned, for bouncing you need to select both tracks.

Thanks very much for ordering my book! I hope you enjoy it.
