Greetings All:

I have a friend that upgraded from X3 Essential to X3 Producer to get on board with Addictive Drums. The Studio, Prog and Rock kits show as expiring trial versions? He has dealt with XLN (via email...nightmare) and Cakewalk with little or no success to get the actual full versions. He has deleted, re-installed...removed computer from XLN account and re-registered but the kits just show up as expiring trial versions? I have the product so I was able to make sure all was installed correctly. I even helped remove items in his registry...Crazy Crazy Stuff! Any help from all you users out there would be much appreciated!

Rock On!

The Studio Prog and Studio Rock kits are separately purchased AdPacks. It sounds like demo versions of the packs were installed with the AD2 upgrade.

Hmmm.... I already had Addictive 1 and when I upgraded to 2 those came along with it? I don't recall seeing them in Addictive 1 but whose looking... Why would they show up in his installer?

What exactly is supposed to come in AD2 basic?  As far as I can tell, the Cakewalk version comes with three kits and three midi packs, and that makes it equivalent to the "Producer Bundle".  Or. . . they all come with Prog/Rock/Pop and additional adpacks and the cakewalk version is a cut down version of AD2?  Like artist with no adpaks?

If someone owns AD2, do they have access to AD1?  I thought that had more than three kits.

I own Addictive Drums 1. (and the Retro AdPak).

I co-incidently upgraded to AD2 this afternoon, in fact. (taking advantage of the $99 + Additional AdPak deal before June 30.)

It appears that the Studio Rock and Studio Prog kits are part of the upgrade - I did not need to purchase them separately. They do not show as "trial" versions. (The three Retro kits show up as well, but of course I wouldn't expect everyone to see that.)

I hope that helps...

I purchased SONAR Producer and the version of AD2 that it came with have the Prog, Rock, and Pop kits.  They do not appear to be trials - I do no see this anywhere but could be mistaken.  IF these are full versions, this is a surprise, usually bundled software is the lowest version or worse.

Addictive Drums is the full version. Expansion packs are a different situation.

So are the Prog, Rock, and Pop kits going to expire at some point?  They appear to be full versions, unlike the other expansions which have a webstore link.   None of the other kits are trials, afaik although they will let you play some samples to hear what they sound like.

Thank you marbleusa for posting my issue. 200bpm, did you have the first edition of AD before you upgraded to the bundle of X3 Producer? I did not have the first edition. On my user interface in X3 Producer shows the Prog,Pop, and Rock sets in the first screen that comes up in trial modes. I believe it is the gallery screen.

Is there a difference between the "upgrade" from AD1 to AD2 (€80 on their website) and the current offer on cakewalk shop (various AD2 packs, which apparently include AD2) which cost less than the upgrade itself?

In other words, would I get the same 'upgrade' from AD1 to AD2 if I bought one of the AD2 packs from Cakewalk website?
