The problem is with Guitar Rig's search engine when I type in something it activates the keyboard shortcuts, example....I type in a "P" for lets say "preset 36" and Sonar's "Preferences" window opens up....I want to shut off the keyboard shortcuts as I never use them anyway, but I would be using GR5's seach feature. I don't want to permantly delete them, I just want to deactivate them for a while.

Not as far as I can see - I tried 'Zap All' from the key bindings preferences page (after first exporting them of course). This seems only to clear user-defined ones - the defaults remained in place.
My thinking was that maybe you could export them, zap them temporarily, then import them when you needed them again. Alas not.

Ya I tried that too, no joy...

I found that if you type "T" as in "Twin Reverb" the cursor toolbar opens up...This is definitely a bug... and when you hit the spacebar the music starts playing as the transport is controlled by the spacebar.

There is a setting, I can't remember off the top of my head, that allows the keystrokes in VSTs to be passed through to the host (Sonar). I believe it is in the GR settings but it may be a Sonar setting. You want to turn that off.

If I unplug the keyboard then I can't type in the preset that I'm searching for...

I didn't see and settings in GR for that, and haven't found a keyboard shortcuts shutoff in Sonar yet...

When you type in "Twin Reverb" the "T" opens up the tool bar, the spacebar turns on the transport, turn it off, then hit "R" and Sonar starts recording !!!

Yeah... I was just scouring the intertubes to find an answer for you and the only thing relevant in the search was this thread. Here's a potential workaround (not sure if it would work but it's worth a try). Open up notepad, type in what you want then copy/paste it into the dialog box in Sonar. Cheers.

Did you try clicking the little keyboard icon at the top right of the plugin's window? You've got the buttons S R W and then the keyboard. That button means "give all keystrokes to plugin"
