@garrigus... well that's good to know. Might save me a some headaches if I'm editing after a few too many barley pops. ;-)

While there's no global keyboard shortcut disable function, you _can_ assign individual shortcuts to the Do Nothing command found in the Global Bindings list. This even works with the default shortcuts.

Another great tip!

hmm... I wonder if I get a deal on that because I bought the big box. I'll have to check my account.

Yep here's what happens when you type in "twin reverb" while just in Sonar...

t- opens up the cursor tool window

i- opens up the Inspector window

Spacebar starts the transport

r- starts the recording function and metronome

e-turns on the effects

2nd e-turns off the effects

2nd r turns off the recording function..

 b-opens up the browser

Hilarious !!

None of the suggested solutions actually work with many of my vsts.  For example, none of the U-He synths work with SONAR.

The "Do nothing" command doesn't affect the default global key bindings.

The "Give all keystrokes to plug-in" also doesn't work.

It's definitely a SONAR bug.  I've complained about it numerous times, but I don't think Cake sees it as a bug.

I just tried U-He Diva works fine here. It is CPU intensive but the developer states so and why. I have never had "Give all keystrokes to Plug-in" not work what vst are you having trouble with.

Try saving a preset with a new name.  Inputting the name seems to be the issue.

I thoroughly detest keyboard shortcuts (including the screenset number keys) becuase it is too easy to bump a key and get things completely screwed up.  I would be OK if either 1-you could toggle shortcuts off and on or 2-if UNDO would undo whatever the last shortcut was.  UNDO only works if the shortcut was record or something like that--not if it hoses your set-up or screen.

I think this is a big miss in Cakewalk requirements and I am amazed this didn't occur to anyone.  From a coding standpoint, to toggle all off or on does not seem like a difficult thing. (Undo would be harder because it is a core Windows thing and the Undo would not mean the same thing in every situation.)
