While there's no global keyboard shortcut disable function, you _can_ assign individual shortcuts to the Do Nothing command found in the Global Bindings list. This even works with the default shortcuts.

I have a few I need to disable but can't seem to find "do nothing" in X3.
Anyone?

Thanks for the quick response as usual scook.
For future reference (to anyone running across this old thread) to add to scook's answer, after selecting nothing you need to hit "bind" at the bottom.
Thanks scook!

Hi,

Has anyone had any response by raising this as a bug?

It started out being just damned annoying for me when I first discovered it some time ago (I assumed I was doing something wrong) however as I now have more and more plugins that require input I feel completely hamstrung in setting up plugins and programming synths. The notepad cut and paste is just too onerous.

From the few threads I've seen this mentioned in the official response (as above) seems to be it's the third party plugin developers that need to fix the problem but this just doesn't wash.

I was planning on raising a call to add my voice to the argument too. Just a feature  to temporary turn off all bindings (either a toolbar icon or in the preferences) would be acceptable.

keyboard shortcuts are useful in their place, so permanently disabling them one by one isn't a good solution either.

I'm having a problem where my keyboard shortcuts are not working at all. My new logitech wireless kybd allows me to use shortcuts in Reason for instance but no shortcuts at all work in Sonar X3e. I even tried to bind "W" to rewind, but even though it looked bound nothing happened.
I have no shortcuts working at all. I even tried to import the shortcuts from X2 but still nothing works.
I find myself wishing X4 would appear on the horizon.

You may be on to something here. If only you could figure out why that's happening, you could make Konradh very happy! Can you still do things like type in track names and all that?

I will try that when I get home from work Craig. I will post the result later.
Cheers

Hi,
Do you have Logitech drivers or just windows default drivers installed?
Is there an option for character set or anything? It could be due to a windows/logitech character set conversion that is causing it to bypass the shortcuts in sonar.

Do you still have X2 installed, if so do the keyboard bindings work with the new keyboard on that?

Also does this allow you to type in to plugin windows? If so the workaround might be for us all to get one of these logitech keyboards LOL
