I just happened to be browsing the Cengage store (Publisher of Sonar Power series) and saw this:

The advance blurb on Sonar X3 Power! didn't give much away either. Or the one before that.

They don't have any details, these pages are placeholders for the real thing. Retailers have pages setup well in advance of product releases. This is not the first mention of a SONAR X4 Power! book.

That tells you something about publishing, not Sonar.

I know on Amazon they'll announce the publication date a couple of months ahead of time.

It's standard practice for publishers to notify retailers of book releases 9 or so months in advance of publication (some titles will get this information embargoed but that's not very common).

Publishing date of 11/26/14 with a price of $49.99 seem like details to me. Have these books ever been made available before Sonar's release?

I don't know about the previous editions.  But the pre-release info seems 'legit' to me also.  If it is true, I'm sure CW will figure out a way to spin it properly!

Scott has answered this one before,  it's just a place holder automatically inserted by the retailer.

It may turn out to be true, it probably won't.

Who are they trying to fool, you know x4 is due, I know x4 is due, they know we know x4 is due, why the BS?

Competition maybe, I hate to break it but, steinberg, avid, presonus, apple, and the rest all also know x4 is due. Seems to me like cake like to tease us (or lie to us, point blank deny everything) then take our money. On that note, come on bakers, I want to give you money :D
