I recorded a student of mine the other afternoon, doing a solo on a song I wrote for him, using comp tracks/take lanes for the various passes. He had one little glissando move that he liked, but we decided to make it runaway with repeats for more dramtic effect. I put sonnitus delay on the clip by loading it in to the clip itself. Nothing. I could see it working inside itself (generating echo pulses in the meters) but nothing audible. Plenty of input level and all that, no sound. When I turned the mix up to 100%, the clip became completely silent. I thought I was doing something wrong, so just to trouble shoot, I delted sonnitus delay and threw in oil can delay. Instant results! (that delay is pretty cool). I used sonnitus in the first place because it has the bpm feature. Is this a regular thing,  or a "roll the dice and see if it works" thing? It kinda sucks that they don't work, I was wondering who is having success with these and how?

They work fine for me.

Hmm.. I  haven't had any trouble with win 7 , x3e and Dxi either, until this last time. I have a Jstation which I was fortunate enough to be able to use on win7, but the editor acts up on me ocassionally (it's an XP app though). Maybe I'll try this again. I just thought it odd that I couldn't get the Sonnitus delay to work, then literally did nothing else except use the Nomad Oil Can instead, and it worked no problem.

The Sonitus plugins are DX not DXis. What DXi are you using?

Start troubleshooting.

Does the Sonitus work at track level for you, rather than clip?
Is it only this project that's affected?
Is the mix level inside the plug set to a decent level?
Are there any region FX or V-Vocal on the clip? If so, try bouncing it first.

I'm sure there's more things to have a look at than just this

Is the clip mono or stereo? If mono, remove the delay, do the convert-to-stereo thing from the clips menu, and try again. I use the Sonitus delay as a clip effect all the time so I know it's possible.

To clarify, DX not dxi thanks for catching that for me John.Craig, I recorded this using guitar rig 5.0 pro, which I believe I have set up to output in stereo, but I'm away from the project right now, I'll report back. This is the first time I've had these act up, I don't use them a lot but I do use them occasionally. Bristol, this is where I initially thought it could be relevant, I used it on a comp track clip. I have not yet cleaned it up, I thought maybe Sonar doesn't like this, but oilcan worked no problem. I'm gonna try the stereo thing (if it isn't that way already) , I will slap the sonnitus delay on another track and see if it works ok.standby..
