Is there a way to export the midi from a track without converting it to midi groove clips?

I have a bunch of songs I wrote in Cakewalk pre-Sonar and I'd like to export the midi from them, a track at a time if necessary, to recreate them in X3 format. The songs will load into X3 but they're in the old format and difficult to deal with. They were made with instruments that have been long ago replaced with upgrades (eg: an old AWE32 card) so I want to completely redo them with my current plugins.

So, must I convert every clip to a groove clip (which I really don't want)? Or is there another way?

Simply drag the MIDI clips to Work Desk and save to a desired location.
I don't understand what that Groove clip thing helps here, but I don't need to :o)
Groove clip simply means you can drag the clip to any length you desire and it repeats itself.
I've never known it has something to do with saving/exporting MIDI. Maybe a terminology confusion?

If you go to menu - Project/Export/MIDI the only option is Export Groove Clip.

Dragging to desktop is excellent suggestion.

Okay, found what I need. When saving, instead of saving as a song you can save as Midi in format 0 or 1. Format 1 separates out all the tracks and keeps their names intact. Works great!

Btw, groove clips are used by loop based apps like Acid, Fruity Loops, etc. Writing with them can be fun and is an art unto itself and Sonar does it very well. But it's not a good way to save solos and such.
