Yeah, way to quick for a community ban. Unfortunately hosts can undo spam flags (can't flag spam either for that matter).

Let's not just all flag him as Spam.

Can you be more specific about your problems, nitejamr?

1)I can copy and paste phrases on staff view, and
2) I am not sure what you men by "the faders mix up the tracks half of the time" and
3) "There are numerous other problems too lengthy to go into here" doesn't give me much to go on.

For (1), now he has a tutorial.
For (2), he probably typed an "O" and entered offset mode.
For (3), there's documentation.

True, the post does indeed lack the two essential claims that count strongly for troll post certification. The person must claim:
  • Professional involvement in the software industry
  • To be so busy or important they do not have time to read the documentation.
He/she/it/they did neither, so this could very easily be legit.

I was not commenting on the replies, only that his thread had been flagged as spam twice.  I have seen far worse initial threads. One more flag and he was deleted by the old rules.

Perhaps that has changed.

Sorry if I have misunderstood.

The community spam rule is still active. The user will be banned, the thread will be deleted subject to review by staff. Let's try to help first.

No, I think you got it right, and I also think your point is valid.

He didn't ask for help, he came here to state an opinion. Having stated it, I doubt he'll be back but I agree in giving the benefit of the doubt.

And in a way, I agree. Sonar's Point Of Sale (POS) displays have been rather lackluster in the past.

At my first read, it sounded like total exasperation and venting.

Perhaps some attempts at assistance might temper his temper and get him to engage in the thread, beyond the initial blast.

This forum is well equipped to fire away, should the OP choose not to actually attempt to solve any real issues, so let's first see if any additional posts shed more light on where he is at with it all, beyond the frustration.

I agree.  Too many smart a$$ answers, that really just end up being more of a total waste of time to read.  I especially dislike it when viewing on my iPhone, as you just scroll thru garbage, until I finally just give up on the thread, realizing it's just people trying to be funny, in a stupid kind of way.
I'm actually more interested hearing about people's troubles and how it might affect my use of the same/similar software, rather than lame replies that really offer no help at all and prevent me from further reading in the thread.

Yeah...sometimes software does charge the emotions, when it really shouldn't at all.  But it can be frustrating, especially for those that don't use it extensively enough to really get into the depths of it and what it can really do....usually because of time restraints or slower than desired learning curves.

There are plenty of people who come here frustrated, which includes both newbies and long-time users. And invariably, the community rises to the occasion and more often than not, solves a problem, offers a workaround, or at least sympathizes.

But in this case...seriously...we've seen this kind of person before. They come in, don't ask for help, are rude, non-specific, throw in a line about their vast experience with software, plug some other program, and don't come back. It's almost a formula. And any effort the community spends trying to help that person, who never comes back to follow any of the advice, ends up wasting some very good and kind people's time.

Now, I don't claim to be able to sniff these people out with 100% accuracy, but I'm pretty sure that's the archetype we're dealing with here. As I said before, he/she/it/they didn't come here to ask for help, or provide any meaningful information that would allow for giving any help. Nor was there any interest in dialog, or we would be having a dialog.

I don't care how frustrated someone is, making a grand entrance into a forum by using your first three words to call the subject of the forum a "Piece of Sh*t" is extremely rude and not the kind of person with whom I would like to interact. He's all yours...if he comes back.
