3 weeks ago I installed X3.

I had big time problems installing AD. "VST paths are the same,..."  They patched the installer.
Finally got it installed on the 7th.

On Wednesday I discovered I cannot get ANY audio input recognized.

When I was testing AD on Tuesday I was able to test the audio output, and wop the drums. Not now. No output via asio.

The interface is working fine. I can route via adat, line in, line out, microphone in, wave in, and of course asio out from sonar.

The mixer/router of the interface shows all ins and outs working.  Including Sonar's output.

I have uninstalled every bit of the interface's drivers. And installed anew twice.

Tested with new and old projects.   Audio goes out, but it does not come in.

All windows settings have been confirmed as correct.

No windows updates since 9.28.

Why would the XLN AD ,and/or AK demo, interfere with asio/audio inputs????

Choosing windows audio in AD WORKS???   The wave input strip on the audio interface panel sends it to the speakers!

Asio from sonar but not AD standalone?

I am a bit unhappy.

It was a sign that AD would not install correctly. Should have been wary. Should have consulted The Seer.

Can anybody give me an AMEN?

A clue? A vowel?

Update:
Downloaded reaper
inserted track
selected various asio inputs
and all works fine

Why is sonar not doing the same?

I go looking about to get rid of the friendly names for the audio device.

I find them listed in the AUD.INI file.  I delete the file, start sonar, and ALLLLLLL is fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3 days of annoyance because I have not journeyed to a buried hidden folder to delete a file that somehow broke after installing AD (only proximate/coincidental identifiable cause) and should have updated/fixed itself.

Anywhere in the Sonar interface that I could have found and deleted this file?

Sonar since v1 and never have had to delete the ini files.

Wads up wih dat?

I had uninstalled all XLN stuff before finding I was way to ignorant to know to delete the hidden file. So, tomorrow I will again install AD to learn what it may do. Not sure I will be doing that. I find the AD interface to be way not intuitive. Especially starting with the advertisements.

But why try again? So all of the sonar program stuff is installed.

And maybe we all will learn something. (CUB)

And so on.
