X3 and empty drum plane

Hi, I'm trying to add drums to project. I insert addictive drums from the doftsynth menu, but the drum plane is always empty so I have to write on the piano roll only. Hopefully I am missing something simple. Help appreciated.

To populate the Drum Grid Pane in the Piano Roll View the MIDI track must be routed to a drum map.
