If the playlist is pinned, the arrow keys navigate the play list. If the play list is not pinned, the arrow keys can navigate the tracks in the open project. The pin is located at the upper right-hand corner of the play list. Keyboard shortcut "T".

I don't use the Play List feature. The pin function was my best guess.

good news.
I did not notice the X3a in the previous post, sorry I missed that. The X3e cumulative update has a lot of fixes and enhancements. It is recommended for all X3 users.
 
I will add [Solved] to the title. It is a good idea to update the title to a thread when a resolution is found. This helps everyone know the issue has been addressed and is a aid when searching for solutions.
