Hi  I'd like to buy a Windows 8 tablet and running Sonar X3 on it.  I like Acer Switch 10 with 2gb ram and Atom Z3745.  Do you know if it's possible?
Thanks a lot

I would seriously discourage anyone from attempting to run X3 on a tablet. Even a desktop PC can struggle if it's not up to spec..

8 Gb would be a good start, some use 4 GB, most others use 16 or 32 GB.

Music Creator or even Pyro would be a better choice.

The atom processor can not handle Sonar.

Hi, first of all thanks for your replies
This is not my target :
I do already have a i7 pc with 16gb ram in which X3 is running fine, but I was looking for a W8 tablet ( but not a surface , too expensive) who could handle a basic X3 with a couple of vst instruments , just to develope some ideas while I'm away from home
Anyone's tried to install Sonar on a W8 tablet and play with it ?
For me it's just a matter of knowing if, with that kind of ATOM, the minum specs required are satisfied

I haven't used sonar on that laptop, but I have used sonar successfully on laptops in the past. I regularly use under powered machines to record in the field and don't have problems. For capturing tracks, you don't need much. Push up your buffer if you aren't monitoring.

From "trustedreviews.com"

More casual applications like movie-watching and web browsing are what the Switch 10 will be good at as it doesn't have the sort of core spec that'll worry mid-range and high-end laptops. The Aspire Switch 10 uses an Intel Atom Z3745 processor rather than the Intel Core-series one you really need (among Intel chips, anyway) for really processor-intensive tasks.  It also has just 2GB of RAM, although this is the norm for lower-cost Atom-powered devices.

I would not recommend trying to run Sonar on this device.

Scroll down for minimum spec requirements.

Personally I would want at least 4gb memory as a bare minimum.

Yeah, already saw that minimum specs is 2gb and intel Core Duo. What it was interesting for me to know is if this Intel Atom cpu power could be more or less the same of Intel Core duo suggested in specs.
And if anyone here managed to run X3 on a W8 tablet and which one
Your comments are always welcome
Thanks

The Atom series is a low power device originally intended for small handheld devices where battery life was critical.
The newer ones have been put in anything from smartphones to web-books to palmtops to tablets.

They are not suitable for Sonar.  The Intel Core series, even the plain old Core-duo, is a different beast entirely.

This might put it in perspective:
