Just addressing this question - many of you probably don't know this, but one of our companies used to be the Cakewalk distributor from the Roland days through to right before it closed down last year.

We still had an old VS700 set (new old stock!) in the warehouse and it's now sitting outside my office. I can't make any guarantees here as it's not something completely within our control, Cakewalk Inc did not own or build the hardware - but once we're through the first release, there are a lot of things we will be working on and digging into, of which seeing if we can bring VS700 support up to date is absolutely one of them.

That's really cool of you guys, Meng
I imagine a storm of joy from some of the VS700 users here
All the best.

Can't seem to embed the html for the image from my phone into the post, someone feel free to do so for other members' benefit :)

What can you say, they listened before and they are still listening even after all the issues of the last few months.

To imbed an image insert the image into the post bounded by img tags. When using imgur make sure to use the link to the image and not the link to the page containg the image.

Using the example above:
https://imgur.com/a/GeOLV is the page containing the image
https://i.imgur.com/oSbE7od.jpg is the link to the image
adding the string [img]https://i.imgur.com/oSbE7od.jpg[/img] to a post results in the image displayed in Zargg's post.

Imgur make this possible with fewer clicks by using the copy BBCode option on the image edit page

bring the image into the editor
click copy
paste the string into the message
(can't wait for a new forum)

Aw Meng, I personally can't tell you how great that is to hear from you.  There's not a lot of us, but this is just a really wonderful system that just can't be simply replaced...much like Cakewalk/Sonar.  Really looking forward to what develops.  Thank you, thank you!

PS, don't forget about the drivers, if there's a way to update them that would also be amazing.

If you manage to convince Roland resign drivers for Win10 (VS-700 and VS-20), it is nice.

VS-700 ACT part is open source (except graphics). And I have not found something bad in it.
To bring it "up to date", a ton of bugs should be fixed in Sonar side ACT layer and deeper, bringing it "up to date".But if you going to do this, I may consider to re-think targets of "AZ Controller 2" (currently in planning and "checking the ground" of another DAW).

Thanks scook, posting replies via mobile doesn't have the same WYSIWYG tools as you do on the web, so that shortcode is very helpful :-)

I am impressed. This sort of enthusiasm from the new owner is very refreshing. Not only has Sonar been saved but it may turned out to be the very best thing to have happened to it.

In a way its like being at the beginning of a wonderful relationship. I am happy for all of us.
