Thanks, I have a VS-100 that can also use an update of drivers etc.

Thanks for your attention to the customer base.

Best,

Hi Meng,

I was able to get the VS-700 working with Sonar and Windows 10. Please see page 262 in "The Big Book of Sonar Tips" for info on getting the VS-700 and the Avid Artist Series Mix controllers to work with Sonar. For the VS-700, all it requires is a slight driver tweak that fortunately, normal human beings can do . It refers to a thread in this forum that reveals all.

Of course the V-Studio is "frozen in time" so it's not up to date with all the latest Sonar features, but it worked well at the time I wrote about it.

That is awesome to hear. And if I may ask, please also keep old surface controllers supported as it is in Sonar Platinum. I still have 2 Peavey StudioMix control surface used on daily basis intensively. It works perfect for what it is to control Sonar for almost 17 years! And it only works with Cakewalk products, means you can not use it with other DAW! Studio One has basic support for it, but only half of it's capability can be used. Not as flexible as Sonar. So please, keep the "new DAW" release support them as well. Thank you sir!

Fixing ACT and the control surface functionality of the vs700c would be very much appreciated!!

Not sure about drivers (still Roland property?) and whether there is much improvement possible other than getting the drivers signed and distributed by win10

Thanks Meng! That would be excellent. Still using the V-Studio 700 system here as well.

Thanks in advance for at least your kind consideration Meng. I am also a proud user of the VS700c, any attempt to improve its functionality with the New Sonar will be surely appreciated. I have been advocating for windows 10 driver support for some time. Great news, I'm praying that this initiative will come to fruition.

This may be a good place to mention all of the exciting things happening in the MIDI world, such as MIDI-CI. It may be just the industrial standard that can make it possible to clean up the mess that has been created over the last 10-20 years with proprietary protocols for MIDI controllers of all kinds. Granted, by now MCU has done a good job at standardizing a large portion of the space, but it is not comprehensive enough to cover everything, let alone new things that are coming.

From what I gather, through the Profile Configuration feature, even old gear can be fully supported - and not necessarily with just the aid of the original manufacturer.
