Hello All..
   I am new to Sonar X3 & have a question I've been looking all over help files, tutorials, etc for days & can't find it anywhere. Maybe I'm not using the correct terminology in my searches..but..
  My band records a complete practice, recording the whole time. I want to cut out the individual songs & edit them individually. Is this possible? Does anyone know where to find the instructions?

You don't say whether these are multitrack or not, but the following should get you started.
 
You want to look up the Export Audio function in the documentation. You can export parts of the long file as individual shorter files. You can then Import these into the same project, or a different project. The basic idea is:
 
1. Select all tracks (ctrl-A), assuming you want to export all the tracks you recorded.
2. Click at the beginning of the individual  song in the timeline, and drag to the end of the song.
3. Choose File > Export > Audio. The Export menu presents lots of choices, you will need to look at the documentation. Or, just go with the defaults, which are what you want 95% of the time anyway.
4. When you want to bring the exported file into a project, locate it, place the Now time where you want the imported file to start, then choose File > Import > Audio.

They are multitrack (9 tracks). I will try your solution!  Thanks!

Here is my suggestion:
Open a new project (empty)
Switch back to the existing project
Select and copy (Ctrl+C) the section of the recording you want to keep.
Switch to newly opened project (tracks view), move the "now time" to where you want the tracks to begin and paste (Ctrl-V) the copied tracks on the Tracks Area.
Save with new name.
Repeat as necessary

Be aware that if you have exported let's say the 3rd song into your original lengthy practice session, then the time stamp of that point in time will be embedded into the wav broadcast file.
 
If you then import it later, to a new project, by default it will try to get inserted at the same point in time that the original time stamp is at - so it will have 2 songs worth of space ahead of where it starts.
 
The solution is to remove the check box in Preferences that deals with Always Import Broadcast Wave Files at their Time Stamp.  Then it will import at the Now Time marker (if at zero then the beginning of the track).  Here is the associated link:

I generally leave the check box for this checked, and only remove it when importing as you would do as explained here.  For normal importing of collaboration wave files for projects, I WANT to import at the embedded time stamp, so again for me the normal situation is to have the box checked.

To avoid having the entire clip rather than just selected part of the clip in the new project it may be necessary to apply trimming after the copy. Also all of the track selections can be copied and pasted at one time.
