Hi
Been a while for me. Anyway I have had W8 for , well since it came out.
Is 8.1 OK now or does it break things, incompatibility issues, etc.
My main concerns are Sonar 3e, SF11, etc.
Thanks
Frank

Been using Win 8.1 x64 since available.
I run Sonar Producer X3e (x64), vegas 12, Sound forge Pro11, full Adobe CS5.5, PT 9 HD. +
I've not had any major problems with any of the system.
You can see the hardware I run in my signature.

I've never had any compatibility issues with win8 or win 8.1.
Sonar X3e or Sound Forge 11 (I'm guessing that's what you mean by SF11) won't be the reason for any compatibility issues you have with windows 8.1, though. If anything it'll be the hardware you use that have these issues. Go to the website of your audio interface manufacturer and see if they've got windows 8 drivers.
If you still use the Echo Layla3G interface (as stated in your signature) win8 drivers are available at their site. I just checked. :)

Anonymungus!
I too use Windows 8.1 and no issues, works fine. Also recommend checking for latest drivers.

I had not upgraded to 8.1, because I was waiting for some drivers to support it, but everything is now in place, so I will be upgrading to 8.1 in the next couple of weeks.

I upgraded to W8.1 from 8 a couple of weeks ago. Everything seems to work fine, except an M-Audio Midisport interface that staggered along under Win 8 using the M-Audio pre-service pack 1 Windows 7 driver, it now has no usable M-Audio driver at all. Which doesn't stop M-Audio still selling the things or other hardware with no up to date drivers,
It was horribly unreliable under even Win7 so no great loss.
