Hey guys!
This may have been answered a million times but I'm not really able to find anything specifically...
In a system with several separate internal HDDs, is there any advantage to keeping the Sonar project file and the associated audio file on two separate physical drives?  Neither would be on the OS drive of course.
I've always kept them together on one of my media drives, but setting up my Adobe machine with a separate drive for everything got me thinking...
Thanks!

I don't think so. Many people use Per Project Folders which keeps a project's CWP, audio and autosave files in the same folder so that it's easier to find and backup.

right - it's advisable to keep the projects file where it's not on the same drive as the OS, so if you have sonar AND the projects file on a separate drive, that's not a problem.

Cool, thanks guys!
Ya I figured it wouldn't make much difference - I know in Adobe Premiere or After Effects people will recommend keeping the media and the project file on two separate physical drives, but obviously the demands of streaming video are much higher on the HDD than audio only... Not to mention they may access the project files/media in a different way than Sonar does.

No, there's no advantage to that. You can enhance performance by doing the following...

Drive 1: OS and apps/plug-ins
Drive 2: Projects files and audio files
Drive 3: Streaming samples drive

And of course, additional drives for backup.

No and there may be disadvantages to having them segregated.

Another vote for keeping them all together.
