I have a kick drum track that always causes the Pro Channel EQ to show an overload. The indicator is flashing red. Nothing is actually overloading, and when I expand the EQ I see that the input and output are both below -8 db. The EQ is the first device in the Pro Channel for that track. Any idea what this means?

I'm interested in this too, as it seems it's generally waaaay too easy to get the PC modules to overload...or have the red lights flash.  I typically don't hear distortion or overload artifacts, but it's kinda a annoyance to see the clip lights triggering so easily.  I mean, I'm not having tracks that look like 2x4 sticks of lumber, with no headroom either.

I think I got it sorted. The kick output from addictive drums is assigned to a Sonar track. When it is routed direct there seems to be no control in AD for output. It is acting like a line level out, into Sonar. As it turns out, it was overloading the EQ, or any module inserted first in the Pro Channel. The Quad Curve input meters were unable to track the percussive hit of the kick. Once I watched the meter for a long time I would see the occasional clip indicator if there was a sustained overload. Most of the time the meter was indicating -12db. I had to go to the top of the console and Reduce the input with the trim control.
 
Always good to learn something. The meters in the Quad Curve are some type of averaging, I guess rms.

I think the main meters have a 40 ms frame or something like that...wouldn't be surprised if the PC modules have a similar constraint.
 
I ran into an amp sim once whose meters didn't respond rapidly enough to show that the initial pick transients were overloading it.

I'm really hoping the bakers will give some love to meter management one day. There is an option in preferences to alter the meter response time, but I don't know what meters it applies to.

I think it's the meters in the track, inspector, and console views.
