Actually, Sonar X4 does not have a control bar. Everything is handled by thought control.

This is not good......what if I'm ADD?

The word is that there will be no X4 but there will be XYZ. You have to buy the hardware for it. The good news is it will fix your zipper. The hardware isn't required but if you have problems with your zipper, you won't get support unless you have the hardware.

per THE CRAIG..."Acually, Sonar X4 does not have a control bar. Everything is handled by thought control. The only downside is you have to attach an electrode to the left side of your scalp, but I hear Cakewalk is collaborating with KRK to produce a version of the KNS8400 headphones with the appropriate sensor built-in."

I've used the 8400's for years and even bought their baby brother for my daughter last christmas... lovely cans...I sure hope we will get free updates to our KNS8400's once the sensor's are released... That would be soooo awesome. Unless this is just another ploy by Alex and his gang to ratchet up total world domination...I think there was a Dr. Who on this a few years ago... the bluetooth earpiece control invasion plan...hmmmm

Well part of the invasion plan is that Sonar X4 Community Edition will be integrated with the forums itself next week. Any track you record will be immediately commented upon by forum members. You will also be able to mute solo or bounce members down. You can also export them and compress them into a bundle which in turn can be exported to other forums. You will also be able to rearrange and slice them up as a preference option (for safety reasons).

The dilemma

this is not just about money:

1  get 3 now before October 1
      + mature product version
+ knowing that I prolly will get 4 in february, when it is at its most happy
       - may have to get a 4 upgrade way soon cuz it is just awesomely stably wonderful
+ would have all the 3 goodies

2  wait for the 2 4 1 sale: "upgrade now to get 3 and 4"
      - may not get such an offer and lose getting 3's goodies
      + if does, great bargain
(even though I will expect to use 3 because of the available know-how)

3  do not get 3, get 4 soon
      - knowing I will likely have to wait until February to be able to use it without major issues
+ learn with the crowd   (shared happy discovery, and sad work-around strategies)

I got 4 days to decide which option will affect my sense of self most positively.

I should make this a pol??

============

Why have I not upgraded to 3 already?

I still hate the interface for all the reasons us dissenters have forlorned.

But I have recently had to moved to X2 from 8.5. Initially caused by an interface driver not playing well with others.

Consequently, reluctantly, with mourning and trepidation:

I have been reading posts (many by THE CRAIG) and watching tutorials about how great 3e is.

I am way sad to lose the happiness of 8.5.3. The lack of clutter. The clarity,....

But a new (older) sense of time (short and long term) results in an undeniably unavoidable, and high intelligently approach to the conclusion that I have to limit myself to only a single Sonar interface. Regardless of my personal reluctances.

(And I really dislike the waste of time experienced using MS office 2013. Probably will lose a full week this year waiting for all the eye candy, and the eye-time required to read the white-on-white interface. But don't get me started on that now.)

Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!   I feel much better now!
