I will have hard time to explain it because I cant recreate it on demand but it happens all the time- 10-20 times per sound search. 
 
So let's say I have ReFX Nexus software synth loaded, and I also have several others loaded, every one uses the same Kontrol MIDI controller for Input (set to "None" which shows as "Omni"._ I am chanding sounds Next, Next... after so many sounds, I press play on transport to audition this sound with drums. I dont press the key, but Play triggers the last Midi note that I played on keyboard and the sound begins to play along with the Drum track. Then I stop, sound stops, but next note I press on controller triggers all other instruments. 
 
So again: first- the Play triggers sound without me playing notes and it continues indefinitely until I Stop. After Stop, the next note is sent to all instruments. And then it becomes normal again. What in the world? Happens every day. Thank you. 

Since you used the word "Kontrol", I have to assume you are using a Komplete Kontrol controller. Are you using the synths inside the Komplete Kontrol software? If so, does the same thing happen if you load the synths directly?

I do use Kontrol keyboard but not Kontrol software. I did not get to it yet- I have to many synths, some would show up, other would not- I dont have time to figure out what compatible, what's not. 
 
The problem is only in Sonar. It is very painful as I have other synths set to high volume and I normally like my sound high and always in headphones, so when I press key and instead of one sound I get 10 and very loud it scares me and hurts my ears. Ok, I can kind of predict it- if the notes continue playing without me pressing any notes after I press play, I know to expect the artillery of sounds coming when I press the keys, but there is nothing I can do about it- I cant go and mute them all, so I have to hear them, and Ouch! That hurts some time and can be very unexpected if I forget. So it is not minor issue. Can cause hearing loss.

That version of Sonar are you using? I found some strange midi remapping going on in 2017.09 that appears to be fixed in 2017.10. Between that bug and the chaos that happened after using "Duplicate Track", I can hear some of what you are describing. Things seem back to normal with 2017.10.

I am not sure when it started. I switched to the new computer in early 2017 and this is the first project I am working on on this new computer. I have all updates installed, it was happening with August and still happening with October update. Thank you. 

Anyone? Cakewalk would not address it...

None is not the same as Omni. None means the track has no input. Omni means the track accepts all input.
 
Track input will switch from None to Omni when Preferences > MIDI > Playback and Recording  "Always Echo Current MIDI Track" is enabled and the track has focus.
 
Disabling "Always Echo Current MIDI Track," manually controlling input echo and making sure track input is set correctly may help with this issue.
 
The chance of unexpected data may be reduced further by making sure plug-ins do not send unwanted MIDI data. By default, synths capable of sending MIDI data have "Enable MIDI Output" active. Turn this off on plug-ins that should not generate MIDI data. This is set in the Insert Soft Synth Options dialog, the VST2/3 Drop Down in the plug-in standard header and synth rack synth settings menu.
 
 

Thank you for reply, but this is not a solution. It has nothing to do with MIDI output from synths. It happens randomly about every few minutes. 

This happens here quite often and I can't seem to explain it. I have session right now that is behaving exactly as you've described and even so much so that completely different midi tracks are also triggering on completely different vsti tracks (ex-Orch Bells are sounding as bells but ALSO sounding on the main piano vst). I never echo midi and all of my inputs are precisely as they should be (NONE). Also worth mentioning, there are no plugins loaded in this project, just soft synth. I'm on a very stable custom professional audio computer (Win7-128gbRAM-12core) and a fairly experienced Sonar user. I've fresh installed most current version of SonPlat and have spent the past two days salvaging my midi and audio to rebuild projects from scratch, but ultimately I want to know why this happens and what if any setup steps I can implement to increase my odds of avoiding such anomalous occurrences with midi intense projects.
The project I'm talking about is at 96/24,zero audio plugins, 10 PLAY6.0.2 synth, 1 SD3, 1Kontakt,3audio.Pretty light weight project at this stage and was almost finished prepping for pocketing the arrangement to print for mix balance.
Fresh install has changed nothing so I'm assuming that there is a default value or setting that is causing the project to fail to open correctly and or lock up after the very first command action after opening. Crickets from EWQL on any known SonPlat issues, and I don't really blame them, most are already seeing Sonar as dead and buried! Any input or advice extending beyond the aforementioned basics is kindly appreciated. Kind regards, Gene ✌️
