Every time I add Melodine to a track (region) it pulls up a warning dialogue saying I need to increase my buffers to 1024 or the world will end... (or something less dramatic, but nevertheless implying that Melodine will implode or at best, not function correctly)

Not knowing what on Earth it is talking about I always hit ignore/cancel and carry on.  Melodine works just fine.

What buffers is it talking about? Is this a Melodine setting?  Where is it?  As far as I can tell everything is working as intended. What am I missing?

it's in the Edit>Preferences>Driver Settings>ASIO Panel.  The reason Melodyne does it (I believe anyway) is so that some of the kludgey behaviour of bouncing a clip with it or applying audio effects from the FX bin doesn't take place.  I know in the past I'd get some clicks and pops when I applied Melodyne in the effect bin or inserted it into a track, did the edits, and then bounced to clip.  I ALWAYS change the setting to 1024 when using Melodyne.  Trust that it will save you some headaches.

Thanks,  so it means the sound card buffer setting...  ok, I'll try it.  I don't like the idea of having to mess with the sound card buffers each time I want to use Melodine, but if needs must.

prior to Melodyne making one aware of the buffer settings, I used to have to bounce to clips in real time- same with applying effects from the effects bin.  That prevented some of the annoyances.  I'm actually grateful that I get warned nowadays if the buffer settings are too low.  Edits go much more quickly now.

I don't know how low my buffers are currently set (I'm at work so I can't check) but I know I run 5ms - 8ms latency max for recording and never bother adjusting anything for mixing.  I've not suffered clicks/pops for years,  neither has my DAW!!

All I can see is increasing the buffers will increase the latency,  but I'll try it anyway.  As I said in the OP,  Melodine is working, but the warning dialogue every time is beginning to get on my nerves

I got the message too. When I use it I increase my latency to 20ms with no issues. I only have to remember to switch back to 4ms when tracking.

Does it do anything different or work better with bigger buffers?   I don't see a problem running it the way I am other than the stupid warning box.  It's less effort to press ignore than to keep changing the buffers all the time...

I did look/search before I posted,  honest.  Thanks for the link.

So I guess the next question should be  "How do I stop it giving the stupid warning message every time when we all know there's no problem?"

Yeah I know...  increase buffers...

Oh well,   back to your normal programming.

I just cancel out of the message, and carry on.
