I know that Guitar Rig 4 is stated as being 64 bit, however I noticed that an instance of bitbridge runs for every instance of guitar rig in my project...
I am very new at this and still trying to understand, but this doesn't sound right to me.

Running Vista 64, Sonar 64 on a Quad AMD with 8 Gig ram

Go to the Plugin Manager and add the folder where the 64 bit version of the GR4 .dll is stored.  If you installed it in the default location, you'll find it under:

C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\Guitar Rig4\VSTPlugins 64 bit

Once you add this folder, re-scan all your plugins and you should be able to see it.  Remember to add it to your custom plugin layout, if you use them.

Mtron pro runs fine.. Virtual String Machine does not.. when I try to load it I get a message that it won't run on Vista.

A bit of a bump here. Has anyone run either Kitcore of Drumcore in 8.5 64 bit?

Also can anyone else confirm VSM not working in Vista? Is it just Vista 64?

Has anyone tried the Korg Legacy Digital Edition VST's yet (Korg M1, and Wavestation)?

It is possible that trevorst is having the same issue that I had with Guitar Rig 4: when I checked the "configure as synth" box, GR 4 shows in plugin manager but not in the VST synth menu in Sonar!
Eventually I discovered where the 64-bit VSTs live in the registry, and what key had somehow not been changed:

1) go to this branch:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR Producer\Cakewalk VST X64\Inventory\c:/program files/vstplugins/Guitar Rig 4.dll

2) in the right-hand window, find registerAsSynth. It will probably say (0) at the end. Change that to a (1) and it will show.

I hope this helps, trevorst.

PSP Vintage Warmer 1 and 2 (VW2 also x64 beta)

Cool. I didn't realize PSP was on the path to 64 bit plugs. I may finally upgrade from VW1.

Bumping this one again.

I have posted questions on the Submersible forums about their products and the news is mixed. It seems that Drumcore crashes Sonar using bitbridge and will not find it's Audio loops when running through JBridge, It does find Midi loops and sounds and otherwise functions. I still have my fingers crossed as I use Kitcore which does not use audio loops.

A 64bit version of Drumcore was in the pipeline before Sonama Wire Works bought out Submersible. Hopefully this will still go ahead.

Also here is a quote Mudgel on another thread that has quite a bit of relevent information.

" meant that only 2 of my 32 bit plugins wont work with BitBridge 2 and require jBridge. They are Superior Drummer 2.2 and Jamstix 2.
So I have 100% 32 bit compatability with SONAR 8.5.1

Komplete 6 works native x64 except REAKTOR 5 which is 32 bit and works with bitbridge.
All IKMultimedia work with bitbridge this includes all Amplitube and Ampeg models, Sample Tank2.5xl, Miroslav, Sonic Synth, ARC, T-RACKS 3, CSR Reverb.
Line 6 POD Farm works with all model packs
All my other plugs and VSTis are native 64 bit

I'm having a really good experience now. It just all works. The problem with sup Drummer 2.2 not working with bitbridge was a big issue but solved (workaround)with jBridge even though I resent having to spend the extra money but in the grand scheme its AUD$25 when I've already spent thousands on hardware and software. Add more that also work in x64bit SONAR 8.. all Spectrasonics and EastWest and Vienna, iZotope, WaveArts (64bit BETA), Voxengo, Virtual Guitarist 2, Melodyne Bridge,( Nomad Factory Blue-Series, only 8.5)... and so on...

I guess  90-% of all apps work!

Thanks Phoenix...
I have it working fine now, had to delete the 32 Bit version from the VST folder and rescan before it worked. Until I did that it would always load the 32 bit even though I would select the 64 bit version.
Will check out the reg setting though and see what that setting is.
