I know that Guitar Rig 4 is stated as being 64 bit, however I noticed that an instance of bitbridge runs for every instance of guitar rig in my project...
I am very new at this and still trying to understand, but this doesn't sound right to me.
Running Vista 64, Sonar 64 on a Quad AMD with 8 Gig ram
Go to the Plugin Manager and add the folder where the 64 bit version of the GR4 .dll is stored. If you installed it in the default location, you'll find it under:
C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\Guitar Rig4\VSTPlugins 64 bit
Once you add this folder, re-scan all your plugins and you should be able to see it. Remember to add it to your custom plugin layout, if you use them.
HTH
It is possible that trevorst is having the same issue that I had with Guitar Rig 4: when I checked the "configure as synth" box, GR 4 shows in plugin manager but not in the VST synth menu in Sonar!
Eventually I discovered where the 64-bit VSTs live in the registry, and what key had somehow not been changed:
1) go to this branch:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR Producer\Cakewalk VST X64\Inventory\c:/program files/vstplugins/Guitar Rig 4.dll
2) in the right-hand window, find registerAsSynth. It will probably say (0) at the end. Change that to a (1) and it will show.
I hope this helps, trevorst.
