Is anybody successfully using ST3? I have installed the demo (called ST3 Free) and it works fine as stand-alone, but as a VST3 in X3e, it just misbehaves. Notes appear to stick (staying illuminated red on the ST3 virtual keyboard). The MIDI meter in the Instrument Track pulses constantly, although no audio is present. Reset MIDI and Audio makes no difference. The pulsing continues even with the Audio engine off. It looks like some kind of MIDI feedback, but I cannot find the cause.

Although I have not used it very much, ST3 is working fine in X3e for me.
However, I did NOT instal the VST3 dll.
Do some digging in the software forum (maybe its was in this forum as well).
I think there is some discussion about the VST3 dll being an issue.

I'm using ST3 and even after the first update (3.0.1), VST3 is still giving me issues. It drops notes (never the same ones twice) at the start of a file but then plays the rest ok. VST2 works fine, so I've given up on VST3 for the moment. Will be trying 3.0.2 over the weekend.

I'm having the same "stuck notes" issues as you, and on certain projects it seems to take forever to load.  I haven't downloaded the update yet; so maybe it will offer some relief.

Don't use the vst3 version. Vst2 work fine in x3e.

@Jude77 @groverken - It's 3.0.2 that I'm trying, so I'm guessing that it won't improve your lot either.

@musichoo @tom deering - I only installed VST3 (trusting soul that I am). I'll uninstall VST3 and  install (and presumably have to authorise) VST2 when I get a moment.

Thanks all.

FWIW, ST3 is not looking that appealing, as IK will not allow already-paid-for-and-fully-licenced "legacy" ST instruments to be imported into ST3 Free. I'm not enthusiastic about paying the cross-grade fee, especially when the thing is still not fully functional!

I raised a ticket to iK Support when ST3 was released to tell them the VST3 version was duff. That was over a month ago so I sent a reminder today. No reply yet. Apparently they didn't beta test with Sonar...
Use the VST2 dll and you should be ok.

Seems to be working fine here.. I haven't used it for anything, just played with it a bit. Having only the piano sound (free version) has it's limits for a guitarist... ;-)

I've only used the VST2 version as I didn't think of any reason I needed 3...

2 SamplTank 3 updates since release and VST3 still doesn't work in Sonar. I'm still using VST2. I don't know what additional functions are exposed if and when they get VST 3 working in Sonar X3e.

There was a thread here a few weeks ago about the same issue and the consensus was that you should use the VST2 version in Sonar. It seems it is a Sonar issue since the VST3 version works in other DAWs (IIRC).
