All, I have tried to read as many posts but I can't simply get this to work and I'm almost 3 hours into it :( !! it's so frustrating...
I 'hear' the sound coming in/out from my pc but sonarX3 producer version simply doesn't assimilate anything... (I'm trying to record with a guitar although I've tried other inputs with same issue)... I have recorded over 15 songs with this setup but I tried to record a new song today, and I can't simply get any sound back (that I play) background noise is there...
all I have is a little Yamaha usb (Audiogram6) device. I've been using MME drivers for it (2 sets of options I get for in/out:
1: Microphone & Speakers (3 -USB Audio CODEC) or
2: Digital Audio (S/PDIF) High Definition

Not sure which one im supposed to pick although the 1. seem to work in the past. This is why I HATE recording, all I want to do is sit and record instrument, not troubleshoot this crap... sorry, sorry, I can't take it anymore... time is a constraint for me and I wasted 3 hours in this which I would have been done recording the song if it would of worked...

Please help, I already tried the pc/sonar restart/ punch in automatic/ each set of I/O (options above)... not sure what else to do... like I said, this worked in the past, I just haven't recorded in a couple months but now it doesn't recognize no sound (I can hear through headphones what I play, but sonar guitar track doesn't show levels up or down (just the background noise within my pc which is another topic)...

What can I do??? Thanks!!!

First, disable punch so we know that's not the issue.

It's hard to tell from your post what the problem might be, although I assume you should be using the Mics and Speakers option since you're not using SPDIF digital interconnection. Remember that not only do you have to select the proper input for your track in Sonar, but the Audiogram may have its own mixer application that also needs to be set correctly, and that the Sound settings in your Windows Control panel may need adjustment.

I'd advise using ASIO drivers for the Audiogram. If you're using MME you may need to do troubleshooting within Windows itself, not just Sonar. Here are some helpful links:

I was going to also suggest using asio - i did try MME a long time ago and i remember having issues - Nigel

Thank you guys, should have replied sooner; I ended up downloading and installing the latest drivers for the Yamaha thingie and then suddenly I was able to record :|
I still have to use MME but at this point I'm just happy to record... I will be creating a new topic in what tools (average) priced you would recommend using! (the Yamaha usb component is 'ok' but very loud (feedback)...
