  • Is Jamstix 3.6.0 working for you in Sonar X3e?

I haven't used Sonar X3e and Jamstix 3 together in quite some time, but tried to do so yesterday. JS 3 is acting really weird, specifically:
  • With Sonar stopped, clicking anywhere inside JS 3 disengages the Sonar audio engine. Clicking anywhere outside of JS 3 engages the Sonar audio engine again.
  • Clicking on any drum inside JS 3 to audition it results in the visual animation to play but no audio is produced. Then clicking anywhere outside of JS 3 plays the last drum instrument that was clicked on.
  • Clicking anywhere inside the JS 3 property page causes its title bar to lose focus. No other plugin does this.

I posted a question about this on the Rayzoon forum, but was wondering if anyone else saw similar behavior.

Jamstix 3.6.0 works the same way as you describe in my Sonar X3e.

Can you actually use it that way? I find it is virtually impossible to use.

The only one of the three issues I notice is the Title bar losing focus. It is odd but the plug-in still has focus and works OK.

I think the  "Share Drivers With Other Programs" option in Sonar's preferences may be relevent to Member SilkTone's issue.

scook, are you using 32-bit or 64-bit Sonar X3e? Also, what OS do you have? Maybe it could help to narrow it down a bit.

Yes this actually works around the problem! I use the share feature to switch between multiple music applications but I can live without that until Rayzoon fixes Jamstix. I'll let them know about the workaround as it might help to root cause the issue.

Thanks again!

Probably, I do not have the "Share Driver" option enabled. while I do frequently have multiple apps open which generate audio, only one app using ASIO is open at a time, the rest use other drivers.

scook, I can maybe work that into my setup so that it isn't an issue. Thanks for the tip.
